Where to party in Dubai?

Where to party in Dubai?

Dubai is a very touristy city. So if you’d like to party there, it’s perfectly possible. Within the city, you’ll find many panoramic bars and beach clubs. In the first category, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Dubai, while in the second category you can enjoy the cool waters of the swimming pool. Of course, you can move from one beach club to another: the waiters will be there to provide you with everything you need. Whether it’s food or drink, you’ll be treated like royalty.

There’s also something exotic about beach clubs. Indeed, it’s not exactly what you’d find in France or even in European countries. In Dubai, however, they are very much in evidence. And it’s well worth taking advantage of, especially when you go to Dubai during the hottest periods.

Places to buy and consume alcohol in Dubai

In Dubai, the purchase and consumption of alcohol is regulated, and it is important to respect local laws and customs regarding alcohol. Non-Muslims over the age of 21 are allowed to buy and consume alcohol in authorized premises. Here’s where and how you can buy alcohol in Dubai:

Licensed Hotels and Restaurants :

Most hotels and restaurants in Dubai with a liquor license offer alcoholic beverages to their guests. This is often the easiest and most convenient way for tourists to consume alcohol.

Licensed Retail Stores :

There are specialized stores selling alcohol in Dubai. The best-known are African + Eastern (A+E) and Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI). To buy alcohol in these stores, residents generally need a personal liquor license, although the rules have recently been relaxed for tourists.

Dubai Airport:

On arrival at Dubai International Airport, you can buy duty-free alcohol in duty-free stores. There’s usually a limit on the amount of alcohol you can buy, so it’s important to check restrictions before making any purchases.

Alcohol licenses for residents :

If you are a resident of Dubai and wish to purchase alcohol for consumption at home, you will need to obtain a liquor license. This requires filling out an application and providing certain documents, and there are usually restrictions on the amount of alcohol you can buy each month.

For Tourists:

Tourists can also buy alcohol in certain licensed retail outlets without a liquor license. However, they must present their passport and sign a declaration stating that they are tourists and will purchase the alcohol for personal use only.

Please note:

It is also illegal to drink and drive. It is therefore important to consume alcohol responsibly and to respect local laws and regulations.

Dubai: How to prepare for your trip

Dubai: How to prepare for your trip

One of the world’s most popular destinations is Dubai. A beautiful city with a multitude of histories, cultures, activities and attractions to offer its visitors an exceptional experience.

If you’re planning a trip to Dubai in the near future, it’s important to prepare well so you can get the most out of your trip. In this article, we’ll give you some practical advice on how to prepare for your trip to Dubai.

Apply for a visa

Applying for a face is the first step when planning to travel to Dubai. Citizens of some countries in the world don’t necessarily need them for a given period.

However, some are required to obtain their visa in advance. Others, such as the French, can obtain it as soon as they arrive at Dubai airport, and for a maximum of 3 months. To avoid unpleasant surprises, we recommend that you check the visa requirements for your country before flying to Dubai.

The best seasons to visit Dubai

Although the weather is often fine in Dubai, it’s important to note that the heat is also in full swing, especially at certain times of the year. In reality, there are two seasons in Dubai: winter and summer.

Winter extends from October to April. Temperatures during this period rarely exceed 30°C during the day, and average between 17 and 18°C at night. This is one of the reasons why this period is considered the best tourist season in Dubai.

The period from April to October is, of course, summer. Unlike winter, this is a very hot time of year, with temperatures reaching 40°C and high humidity. However, don’t let this factor constrain your trip, as Dubai has plenty of pleasant surprises in store for you every season of the year.

Budgeting for your trip to Dubai

One of the most important steps in preparing a trip to Dubai is defining a travel budget. Several factors need to be taken into account.

Theft

Contrary to what many would have thought, going to Dubai is not that expensive. For example, a direct flight from Paris will cost you just €700 to €900. If you opt for a flight with a stopover, you’ll need to calculate between €400 and €600.
We also recommend booking your flight six months in advance. In fact, international airlines offer the cheapest seats six months ahead of departure dates. However, this doesn’t mean you necessarily have to make such a booking, but it would be wise to start researching and comparing flight prices early on.

Accommodation

Accommodation prices vary according to whether you are staying in a luxury hotel, a youth hostel or an apartment hotel, which is more economical for longer stays. It should also be noted that overnight stays are relatively more expensive than in France.
You’ll need to budget around €100 a night for good comfort. Don’t hesitate to book a few months in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises on arrival.

Catering and travel

Catering in Dubai is much less expensive. You’ll only need to spend around twenty euros for a restaurant, and even less for street food. The same applies to transportation, which is also affordable. Just allow €1 for a metro ticket. If you want to rent a car for your trip, you’ll need to budget from €150 to €200 per week.

Planning your visit to Dubai

To prepare your trip to Dubai and plan your stay, it’s important to know the best places to discover in Dubai. These include :

  • The Burj Khalifa: the highest tower in the world, offering an exceptional view of the city and the spectacle of the fountains;
  • The Dubai Aquarium: great fun and free for children under 3;
  • The Palm Jumeirah: an artificial archipelago in the shape of a palm tree with luxury resorts and beautiful beaches;
  • Dubai Mall: the world’s largest shopping mall.

As this list is not exhaustive, you’ll also find plenty of other great activities on our site.

Find out about safety and rules in Dubai

If there’s one city on earth where you have nothing to fear, it’s Dubai. In this city, the crime rate is almost non-existent. Snatchings, burglaries and robberies are very rare.

However, you’ll need to observe certain principles to ensure your safety in Dubai. For example, it is forbidden for men to walk around without a shirt.
Clothing that is too short, transparent or tight-fitting for women is considered indecent. So dress modestly not only to avoid unwanted attention, but also to respect the local culture.

Avoid taking photos of strangers or Muslim women without their permission. However, you do have the option of taking panoramic images in a well-known tourist area. It is also forbidden to drink alcohol in public, as public drunkenness and/or drunk driving are severely punished in Dubai.

Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: between sport and vacation

HOW TO DO IT? Don't forget that the trip is well worth the detour, so it's important to plan a few visits to keep your memories alive! Want to learn more? So stay with us - this is the place to be!

Learn all about the history of the Formula 1 circuit in Abu Dhabi

As all sports fans know, Formula 1 is a truly unforgettable event. We're sure you'll have the perfect day at the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 circuit. So we're sure you'll enjoy the race.

It should also be borne in mind that the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 circuit is relatively new. It was created in 2009. It took just two years to build the entire architecture of the circuit, as well as its surroundings. The main aim of this Formula 1 circuit was to place Abu Dhabi at the center of the world: indeed, the United Arab Emirates did not yet have a Formula 1 circuit, and no races were held on that side of the globe. Obviously, the objective has been achieved: many people come to see the different races offered by this circuit. The races are also broadcast directly on TV.

It's also worth bearing in mind that the circuit is built on an artificial island. It took no less than 25 million man-hours to build this incredible complex. It also took 47,000 workers to build the entire infrastructure. There are also two possible circuits: the longest is 5.5 kilometers and the shortest is 4.7 kilometers. Inside the circuit, it's perfectly possible to find a luxury yacht marina, and in the middle of the circuit, a hotel. This is certainly the best spot if you want to see the different races.

When will the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix take place in 2022?

If you're planning a trip to Abu Dhabi for this year's Formula 1 Grand Prix, you'll need to plan your stay between November 17 and November 20, 2022. You can buy your ticket online. However, it's best to get in early to be sure of a seat in the stands. This will simply give you access to the two days of preparation, as well as to the final race on November 20, 2022. Of course, you'll be able to find different tickets: we're sure you'll find something to suit your needs and, above all, your budget.

Where can I stay to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi?

If you really want to experience the race to the full, we recommend you book a room at the Yas Hotel. In fact, it's right in the middle of the circuit. It's a 5-star hotel with a breathtaking view of the circuit. You'll have a front-row seat to watch the various vehicles go by. It's also worth noting that this hotel is easy to get into, as during the off-season, rooms can be found for AED 120 (around €33) a night.

If you choose this hotel, you'll also have access to private areas. For example, you can take a behind-the-scenes tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, or explore the various locations on the circuit. It's an experience you can't afford to miss, quite the opposite in fact.

The circuit is open free of charge almost every Sunday: come and enjoy!

As you can see, the race is not held every day. So, on Sundays from 5pm to 8pm, it will be perfectly possible to go directly to the circuit to walk, run or simply have fun. If you're planning to extend your stay, this is an activity that's easy to do. It's also worth noting that this will allow you to discover the circuit without it being displayed on television. Rather interesting, don't you think?

Please note that entry to the circuit is free of charge. However, you still need to register. For even more convenience, you can register directly online. You'll need to be equipped with sports shoes when you're on the circuit: all that's left for you to do is walk, run or simply cycle, depending on what you feel like doing, of course.

If you'd like to enjoy a driving experience on the latter, that's perfectly possible. The latter costs AED 300 (about €82) if you have your own vehicle. However, if you want to drive an Aston Martin G14 or a Formula Yas 3000, you'll need to budget for AED 1,750 (approx. €483). For a passenger experience, prices range from AED 100 (approx. €27) to AED 750 (approx. €207).

Plan a full stay to enjoy the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, as well as the sights!

If you decide to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, we recommend you plan a stay. After all, it's not every day that you'll be in Abu Dhabi, and you still need to take the time to visit the surrounding area. So you can see a few days before or a few days after to enjoy the city. The aim is to combine a sporting experience with a breathtaking vacation. It's also worth noting that the weather in Abu Dhabi in November is particularly mild, so this is an experience you can't afford to miss - quite the contrary.

Not sure how to plan your trip to Abu Dhabi? Don't panic, we've got a few tips to help you make the most of your week-long stay.

Day 1: Arrival in Abu Dhabi

When you arrive in Abu Dhabi, the first thing you can do is simply find your hotel. In fact, we're sure that after several hours on the plane, you'll want to get some rest. You can also take advantage of the evening to sample local specialities.

Day 2: Testing

If you arrive the day before, you can spend a day watching the tests directly on the Abu Dhabi circuit. Of course, you'll need your tickets to take part.

Day 3: Qualifying tests

It's an important day for all the riders. So you can get a sneak preview of who'll be in pole position. Once again, you'll need to have your tickets with you to see its various events.

Day 4: Race day

It's the big day! At last, you'll be able to see the start of the runners, but also find out who the overall winner is. The better your position, the greater your chances of seeing your favourite rider on the circuit.

Day 5: Take time to visit Abu Dhabi

It would be a shame to fly so many hours without seeing the surrounding area. So, as you can probably imagine, there are plenty of monuments to visit. All you have to do is select the ones you want to see. Of course, we'll give you a few tips at the end of the article.

Of course, it's perfectly possible to do this trip in reverse, starting with a visit to Abu Dhabi. You'll just have to see what, if anything, you can do during your stay, depending on your booking dates.

If you're afraid of getting lost, you can also book a package tour. So you'll have a whole program to stick to, which can be reassuring for many people.

Must-see sights when you're there!

Would you like to visit Abu Dhabi? Not sure how to go about it? Don't panic, we'll give you all the information you need in this section. So let's take a look at some of the sights you need to see in Abu Dhabi before you leave.

The Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi

It's a real bridge between East and West. Indeed, the Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi was inaugurated in 2017. It's also worth noting that the latter allows for a real dialogue between cultures and civilizations, making it a must-see!

Sheikh Zayed Mosque

If there's one monument you can't miss, it's the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. In fact, the latter offers an incredible view: you can navigate the various corridors covered in Moroccan marble. The latter is nonetheless very modern and accommodates 40,000 worshippers. And don't forget to dress appropriately for your visit.

Qasr Al-Hosn

This old building in Abu Dhabi is certainly a place you'll want to visit. The latter has existed since 1793. Naturally, the palace's interior has been renovated and modernized. Nevertheless, you'll find a museum of traditional artifacts and historical photographs that allow you to learn more about the area's history.

La Corniche

If you're in the mood for a stroll by the sea, in an almost paradisiacal setting, La Corniche is certainly what you're looking for. In fact, it's a 6.5 km walk. Don't hesitate to pack a picnic to enjoy the view.

Heritage Village

Far from the life we know today, you can discover a typical Bedouin camp. The latter will also give you an idea of what life was like before the oil boom. The latter is located on a lovely beach, not far from the Marina Mall.

As you can see, it's perfectly possible to find plenty of places to visit in Abu Dhabi, to round off your stay. Of course, this list is not exhaustive: feel free to personalize your stay as you see fit. Now all you have to do is organize it so that you can enjoy the race and your vacation!

Visit Dubai in a week

Dubai was little more than a small desert town 60 years ago. Today, Dubai is one of the world's most advanced cities, and a city of extremes.

Now, in Dubai, you see the world's tallest building and most luxurious hotel. You can ski indoors in the middle of the desert and parachute over islands that have been blown up in the shape of a world map and a palm tree.

Dubai can be roughly divided into three sections: the modern part, the ancient part and the desert. In 25 years, Dubai has gone from being a "desert village" to an ultra-modern city, and the development continues.

Visit Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, the day of grandeur

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest tower. You simply can't ignore it. The tower is 828 (!) meters high and can already be admired from the air. You only realize how tall the tower is when you see a photo of the skyline. The building is simply disproportionately tall, twice as high as the Empire State Building in New York...

You can visit the tower in two ways: via At The Top and via At The Top Sky. Don't forget that weekends (Thursday and Friday) are very busy, so it's a good idea to book tickets in advance. A popular time to visit the tower is sunset. Would you also like to be at the Burj Khalifa during sunset? So be sure to book your tickets about three weeks in advance.

The Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping mall. Dotted around the mall, slim information panels show you where you are and where your favorite store is. You can even download an application containing all the information. In the shopping center, you can use the Internet free of charge. The mall boasts 1,200 stores. You'll find both inexpensive and expensive brand-name stores. You'll also find a real waterfall and Dubai's largest aquarium.

Dubai's fountains

Right next to the Burj Khalifa are the Dubai Fountains, again the largest fountain in the world. Show times are as follows: daily at 1pm and 1:30pm, and every half-hour from 6pm to 11pm, except Friday afternoons. On Friday afternoons, the show takes place at 1:30pm and 2pm. The most impressive show in winter is the 6 p.m. show. It's when the sun has just set and it's blue hour. This is when the light is at its best for photography. You can imagine that such a fountain show with a backdrop of lights and Arabic music is truly a fairy tale.

A day in the desert for day two

On a vacation in Dubai, you must go on a desert safari. Simply because it's great fun. And you get out of town for a while. On a desert safari, you drive a 4×4 across the desert dunes. It's a beautiful, crazy ride. Then you come to a sort of tented camp, where there's also plenty to do. You can go quad biking, sandboarding, camel riding, there's delicious food for you and late at night there's entertainment too.

A visit to authentic Dubai

Discover the historic center and souks

Dubai also has a down-to-earth side, namely the historic center. These are the Bur Dubai and Deira districts. The neighborhoods are separated by the Dubai Creek.
Bur Dubai is located on the western shore of Dubai Creek and has a number of sights to see. Examples include the Dubai Museum and the Grand Mosque, one of Dubai's oldest mosques. We also recommend crossing the Al Bastakiya section. This district is known for its sand-colored buildings and narrow streets. This gives you a good idea of traditional Dubai.

Deira is located to the east of Dubai Creek. It used to be Dubai's business center, before all the huge skyscrapers were built. A visit to Deira during your vacation is well worth it, as you can still really see the old Dubai here. Here you can stroll through typical narrow Arab streets with small boutiques and stores. You also have souks here. In this neighborhood, you can buy gold and jewelry at the Gold Souk, and for herbs and spices, you can head to the Spice Souk. You can also spend hours watching the many boats on Dubai Creek along the banks.

Take the cab boat on Dubai Creek

Speaking of boats: as a tourist, it's great to take a water cab on Dubai Creek. These traditional water cabs are also known as Abras. Almost every minute, an Abra leaves for the other side. It's also probably the cheapest form of public transport you'll find here: it costs around one euro.

Visit Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the second-largest city after Dubai. It is located on the island of Abu Dhabi and on several other islands in the Persian Gulf. It is linked to the mainland by several bridges, making it easy to reach the capital from Dubai, for example.

And Abu Dhabi is only 130 km from Dubai. This distance can be covered in 90 minutes. As a result, the capital of the United Arab Emirates is easily accessible on a day trip from Dubai .

Our team offers you a quality excursion to spend your day in Abu Dhabi. Please contact us for more information.

Visit the museums and the Jumeirah mosque

During your stay in Dubai, you must visit at least one museum. The Shinghada Museum is highly recommended. This museum is located in the historic district of Al Shindagha, near the Creek, the historic area of the Emirate of Dubai. Neighborhood or Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum. The Al Shindagha Museum proudly displays the history and traditions of the UAE nation over the centuries.

You can also visit Dubai's newest museum, the Museum of the Future. With its modern architecture, we also recommend a visit to this magnificent museum.

Jumeirah Mosque

The Jumeirah Mosque is Dubai's largest and most beautiful mosque. In the medieval Fatimid tradition, the mosque is built entirely of white stone, with imposing minarets on the sides and a large domed roof in the center. It's also well worth a look in the evening.

Everyone can come and admire the mosque from the inside, where you can learn more about Islam and local culture during the daily morning tour (except Fridays). Please keep in mind your choice of clothing.

Visit Dubai in a week

Relax on the beach

Dubai boasts beautiful beaches where you can enjoy the sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Some beaches are private and owned by hotels, and for some you have to pay. But there are also plenty of beaches open to the public. Keep cultural differences in mind. Although these days you can generally lie around in a bikini or swimsuit as a woman, string bikinis and topless sunbathing are forbidden. You can also get strange looks from men. There are also beaches reserved for women.

Most of the beaches are on and around the palm island of Palm Jumeirah, as this is where most hotels and tourists stay. The public beach near the Burj-Al-Arab is also highly recommended. From this beach, you have a beautiful view of this famous hotel, with its iconic sailboat shape. If you're on this beach in the late afternoon, lie down for a while too, until the sun goes down. The sunset here is truly magnificent.

Water parks, a family day out

Dubai is the ideal water park destination, which is why there are several where you can enjoy water attractions. The two most famous water parks are Aquaventure and Wild Wadi, which are quite expensive.

Wild Wadi is Dubai's original water park, located next to the Burj al Arab. Here, you can have fun on the sun terrace, or go down one of the raft slides or a steep waterslide where you can reach 80 km/h.

Aquaventure is located next to the Atlantis Hotel, so you can also go there for free if you stay at the hotel. Here you'll find the Lazy River to float on, as well as spectacular slides such as the one through an aquarium with sharks and rays.

In addition, there's the Legoland water park and the smaller, more affordable Laguna water park, whose highlight is a surf machine where you can surf in a semi-circle on artificial waves.

To make the most of your vacation, alone or with your family, don't hesitate to contact us. Our team will advise and guide you throughout your stay in the magnificent city of Dubai. After more than 10 years as the leading French-speaking guide in Dubai, we offer you the best activities, with a personalized program.
